Enalapril is an ACE inhibitor. When the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) is inhibited, vasodilation occurs, resulting in decreased blood pressure.

Age is the least likely because salivation is not directly related to age, except perhaps in the very old.

Plaque is the primary etiologic factor for perio. disease, and bleeding is an indication of active disease. Increased pocketing occurs as a result of poor oral hygiene. Plaque index and photos reveal presence of plaque on proximal surfaces. Bleeding points on the proximal surfaces (see charting) suggests pt is not effectively cleaning between teeth. Perio disease often begins interproximally in the col area.
